Another day, another work outfit.

It has been so hot in the Bay Area, so my manager told me I could wear shorts...
only if they were work appropriate.
Thankfully, I have these brown suede shorts, which rock and worked perfectly.

Look:
Cashmere Striped Sweater: Margaret O'Leary
Suede Shorts
Red Floral Bag: Burberry

school girl in the rain

It has been so rainy in the Bay Area, which is kind of a downer,
because I really wanted to wear these suede shorts that I have been saving for spring.
Anyways...
my look today consisted of my usual pairings: brights layered with patterns
(and of course a cozy cashmere!)

Sometimes I feel very school-girl in my clothing,
but I guess that tends to happen when one is a bit of a girlie-girl.
Hope you enjoy these pictures!

Basics

Basics today: staple white jeans, button up, favorite zip-up, and metallic flats.

I always wear bright colors and different patterns,
because styling is so much fun when you challenge the boundaries.
But I forgot how effortlessly chic it is to wear neutral tones.

Look:
Metallic Oxfords: M&S
White Jeans: United Colors of Benetton
Button Up Flannel: Gap; hand-me-down from my Dad, who accidentally shrunk it(lucky me!)
Shawl Hoodie: Cabi
Bangle: See by Chloe
Ring; H&M
Hello Kitty Necklace
Leather Crossbody: Vintage

Recycle: How to pair it over, and over, and over again...

Do you ever have those pieces that you could wear over and over again?
I love finding new and creative ways to style some of my favorite pieces.
Here are some of my ultimate pieces that I like to wear over and over again,
but always with a different flare. Future spring piece makeovers in the works :)

My Brown Leather Jacket:
I waited about three years to find the perfect leather jacket, and I finally found one about a year ago, while I was visiting family in England. When purchases expensive pieces, it so important to me to find pieces that I will like for a long time. This jacket's details, in particular, were so intricate that I fell in love immediately.

Flirty Lace Skirt:
I love this skirt, which was so cheap from F21. It is a great piece for the spring. I can't wait to wear it once the weather gets warmer: a little skin would make the skirt so hawt <3.

That LBD:
I have a bunch of black dresses, but this simply jersey long sleeve one was my ultimate favorite this winter. The ruching of the dress is my favorite part; it makes it look like a skirt when layered.

Cashmere Cozy Grandpa Cardigan:
I got this treasure from my grandmother. It is so warm, and has the perfect amount of lazy grandma chic without being frumpy. I could wear this over any outfit.

Everyday Booties:
I'm not really a shoeaholic. I tend to wear a pair of shoes over and over in a season, to the point where I can't wear them again. These Steve Madden booties have been my staple boot this season. I liked them because I found them to be pretty season neutral.

Striped Long Sleeve Shirt:
Once you find the perfect long sleeve shirt, its pretty hard to stop wearing it.
I love stripes, so this shirt was a great find.
The details of the front

Printed Leggings:
My mom thought I was ridiculous for buying leggings with bears all over them. She didn't think I would get a lot of use out of them: oh was she wrong! I love these leggings, which I wear all the time. They are so much fun to pair with different colors and trends. My little hipster prep (yes, a bit ironic) comes out when I put them on.

Amazing Afternoon

I am still laughing about my afternoon spent with my biff Jackie. We always have so much fun together.
Today, our style session got super silly: we had our own ANTM competition.
Our pose off was too funny- and Jackie definitely won!
My look today was super girlie girl. I was feeling like a Gossip Girl inspired fit.
I love this dress that I got from Sway, which is on sale now so check it out ;)
I am a layering-kind-of-gal.
So although this dress is gorgeous solely by itself, I definitely needed to add on the colored tights and patterned blouse.
Here are a few adorable pictures of Jackie and I being our completely ridiculous selves.

F FASHION! jkkkkkk!

 Girlie Girl Look:
Love all the layers in this look: color, textures, and patterns.
Love these round glasses of Jac's that I borrowed. They gave this preppy look a more boho feel.
Sky High Mary Janes with a pop of color.
Close Up: Love this muted pastel color combo for spring.
Wish I had a pop of neon for this look!
Cutesy Earrings to finish the look.

Mary Janes: Steve Madden
Magenta Tights: M&S; Southport
Peggy Dress: Many Belles Down; Sway
Blouse: UK Style by French Connection; Sears
Necklace: Urban Outfitters
Heart Earrings: F21
Bow Headband: F21

p.s. I really want to post this video of me and Jackie, but I don't know if the blogger world can handle or silliness.

Green Shorts for the Spring Time

I love my new green shorts because they are the perfect color for spring.
The little blue button details are really cute too.
Sometimes I hate shopping at stores like F21 and H&M because the details, whether its weird buttons or bizarre prints, can be simply tacky.
Buuuuutttt these green shorts were definitely the exception!

Still loving the trend of polka dots- just trying to get all my use before they run their course ;)
I love this cashmere sweater shirt that my sister snagged for me. She works wardrobe in film/TV, and this was a treasure from NBC's The Playboy Club.
Green Shorts Look:
Sweater: UK Style by French Connection; Sears
Cashmere Sweater Top; Vintage, circa 1960s
Green Shorts: F21
Dotted Tights: H&M
Booties: Steve Madden
Necklace: H&M
