Pink Jeans & Leopard Print

The weather has been so bad this weekend.
I was barely able to get any pictures done.
Jackie and I took these today,
and coincidently it began to rain
right when we decided to go outside.
I love these pink jeans that were such a deal from F21-
 only ten dollars!
I paired them with this great black and white leopard print jacket, also from F21.
Here are some pictures of this look. I wish it was a bit brighter out.
It is hard to tell the color of the jean, but oh well!

Look:
Black and White Leopard Jacket: F21
Sheer Black Collared Blouse: H&M
Pink Jeans: F21
Metallic Clutch: H&M
Booties: Calvin Klein

Review: JPG @ deYoung

I had the most amazing time at the John Paul Gaultier exhibit with  Jackie
I cannot express my gratitude to Gilt City and Jackie,
for allowing me to experience such a one of a kind experience!
Last night, seriously felt like a crazy dream.
When we first entered the museum,
the whole opening was filled with models and other staff workers getting makeup and outfits prepped. There was so much creative energy whirling around,
basically a lot of fabulous chaos
Jackie and I were fortunate enough to go inside this exclusive room,
where John Paul was hanging out with his entourage.
(As I told Jackie all night, we would do so well in a fashion entourage- tres chic.)
It was too surreal being in the same room with such a genius,
and also with so many fabulously dressed people.

Okay, the party was obviously a hit,
so onto the actual exhibition...

I was overcome with awe at the exhibition.
I had read about the robotic mannequins, with little idea what to expect.
It was simply amazing, and must be seen in person:
basically, faces are projected onto plain mannequins.
The result is beyond realistic- such a trip.

There were so many people and so many things to observe;
I will admit that I needed more time to take in everything.

I am so ready to go again!
I don't want to give away too much,
because I really believe anyone, who is able, should go see it.

I decided to instagram the entire day
(I know, such a dork- but we were reeeeaaally excited):

Jackie's mom did our hair:
Jackie did a multi braided chignon,
and I had a beautiful French braid twisted from one side to the other.
YAY! About to leave, full view looks to come soon!

Genius.
John Paul Gaultier mannequin.
Where the projections came from.
House music by JPG, circa year of birth 1989.
Holla!

Madonna flashbacks.
Just a glimpse at some of the amazing couture on display.

Punk love.

His detailing is out of this world.
The entertainment was indescribable.
Basically: a crazy, hypersexualized marching band sums it up.
If that description didn't help, here is another shot of the performers.

Can't wait to get more pictures/ videos from Jackie!
Till then...

Wednesday Look: Dog Walking Chic

Today, I went over to my friend Rob's house
and we went on a walk with his adorable dog Finny.
I loved my outfit...
so I forced Rob to take pictures of me while we walked.
I have really nice friends, who support my style blogging addictions.

hehe

Anyways, today the weather was really nice,
but still not warm enough to go without a sweater.
Hence, I had to wear tights, and my usual layered scheme.
I am laughing now at my last blog post on plaid-
since I am wearing dots here-

whatever.

I love this cardigan. It goes with absolutely everything.
This look was very casual smart with a girlie, vintage twist.

Here are some pictures of this look:

I love these vintage shoes- so much fun to pair with outfits.

I think my outfit is really cute, but how cute is Finny?!

These earrings are awesome.
I wish they stood out more with this outfit, since they kinda blended in with my hair.
Sometimes I just feel silly having my picture taken.

Seriously, OBSESSED!

Metallic Woven Flats: Vintage, circa 1980s

High Waisted Shorts: F21
Sheer White Blouse: Express
Polka Dot Cardigan: Cherokee, Target

Trend Alert: Plaid

It's not like plaid ever goes out of style,
but this fall it's bringing a new level of chic.
So sorry, polka dots, I still love you, but I am ready for a change.
Plaid is such a great versatile fabric
that can be worn in many different styles and colors.
Tory Burch, by far, had the best usage of plaid.
Sometimes I find plaid to be a bit masculine,
but Tory Burch's Fall collection demonstrates that plaid is just as girlie.

Here are some of the best executions of this hot fall trend:

Just one of the many combinations Tory Burch does with plaid:
Metallic and Plaid

Plaid Combo: Green Plaid
Plaid Combo: Blue on Red Plaid
Plaid Combo: Sequins and Plaid

Final Tory Burch Plaid Combo: Florals and Plaid

Band of Outsiders also does a great job with plaid.
Red plaid seems like a typical color choice when wearing plaid, but this look is fresh.
I love this western look with the heavy trench, because it doesn't weigh down the dress.
L.A.M.B. does a great job at showing a younger way to of wearing plaid.
This plaid suit reminds me so much of clueless. I love this modern take on a classic look.
The neon pop of color really highlights plaid well.
Just a quick look of how plaid has transformed over the years.
Definitely loving this ensemble though. So 90s chic,
duh
